Young boy,
8 years old,
He prays to god,
Please don’t let my dad grow old,
He is so mean,
He makes me his slave,
Please Lord,
Take him away.

Grown boy,
12 years old,
He prays to God,
Don’t take my dad away,
As his father goes in for surgery,
He is down on his knees begging the Lord,
To let his daddy stay on earth for one more day.

Teenager,
16 years old,
He prays to God,
Please let my dad keep his job,
I need this car,
He jumps up and down for joy,
As the dad tosses him the keys.

Young adult,
18 years old,
He prays to God,
Let me see the way through college,
Help my dad out through the rough times,
Let this car get me through one more year,
As he pulls out of the driveway,
And onto the street,
He just sees his dad,
Wiping his eyes.

Young man,
22 years old,
He prays to God,
Please help my dad,
He needs your help with the bills,
From tuition, and such,
He sheds a tear as he thinks about the lonely nights,
His father spends awake at night.

Grown man,
25 years old,
He prays to God,
Please let her be the one,
Please help my dad,
Don’t let him cry when he realizes what he is losing,
Please give me the strength to never forget him.

Middle aged man,
35 years old,
He prays to God,
Please don’t let my dad suffer,
Please give me the strength to pull the plug,
His wife just stares in awe,
The love flowing off of him and filling the room,
This is the man she married,
Yet she never has seen this man before,
The man takes one last look at his dad,
Kisses him on the forehead,
And as the flood gate opens,
The tears start to flow,
The man kneels down,
And yanks the plug from the wall.

Older man,
43 years old,
He prays to God,
Please let me live to see the day,
My 8 year old’s hair turns grey,
And is kneeling over my bed,
Kissing me on the head,
And forgets all the mean things I had said,
And Lord, no matter what,
Please keep me from running off my wife, he is gonna need her,
And I know I won’t be there to take the space,
Cause I am not half the man my father was.

**I know the ending sucks, but I couldn't think of anything... Oh well,
you get the picture.**
