An angel cries
Perfection no more
My breath catches
I fall to the floor
In the silence
A million hearts are breaking
In the darkness
A million lovers are forsaking
A child's eyes see red
Innocence forgotten
A beautiful apple lies
Discarded and rotten
Another life spent
Another existence destroyed
Another heart stilled
Another tragedy to avoid
Because our selfishness
Stretches beyond the stars.
We only care for ourselves;
Only nurse our own scars
My breath returns
I struggle to my knees
Cold tears stream down
As they fall, they freeze
Life’s cycle spins within my head
Lie, cheat, deceive, repeat.
I just want to take it all away
Erase, remove, rewind, delete.
New tears spring forth
Tears of hate - I'm like them
Hot tears of self pity
They paint a picture of selfishness
Human psychosis - Pretty.
