Wrapped up together,
So close to you.
Feeling you next to me
Is a dream come true.

My eyes fall upon
Your dreaming face.
You're far away from here
In your own place.

But I'm not. I'm here with you,
With you right at my side.
Right now, I feel so perfect.
There's nothing I need hide.

You smile in your sleep
And I smile along.
For you, my love
Will forever be strong.

Sunlight sneaks in
Signaling the night's end.
I refuse to let you go.
To go back to being just your friend.

Catching a last glimpse
Of paradise lost,
I've shown my love.
But at what cost?

The cost is knowing
Of what could be,
And knowing what it's like
To be truly happy.

I sigh,
And tears come fast.
My fondest memory of you
Is now a thing of the past.
