Growing up Alone

I'm so scared everytime the phone rings
everytime the doorbell rings
that you won't be there anymore
because you fought in the war
I know I should be proud and brave
but that's real hard standing at your grave.
why did both of you have to go?
didn't my love show?
now both of you are gone for good
I know I should be proud I should
I didn't want to say good-bye
but now its too hard not to cry
I still dread answering the phone
because now I'll grow up all alone.
