Nature's Night

The miles to go before i sleep
have vanished 'fore my eyes
yesterday were paved roads ahead
tomorrow, the sunset dies

Why should she have to bear
The things unknown when she began
Mine's the burden, to be fair
The future holds her vigilant man

What should I do? I cannot leave
But pretence can false elements weave
In shadows lurk my secret way
Of one having gone astray

For strong I am, a man of might
In strength, I acted out my plight
For honour, courage, truth and light
Yet broken down by nature's night

So many things i haven't done
Desires, have gone unseen
challenges have been destroyed
all I have's become obscene

But I've tasted for eternity
her precious fruit, my heart's delight
hazel's depths, and sweetenned lips
the virgin dew 'tween Helen's hips

To save her way, I'm pushed away
My love for her is flaming bright
Her future's glory's guiding light
have been my prayers day and night

In chains in dungeon's darkenned lock
I breathe my last surviving breath
I sit, I wait, the end is near
for Recnac's sting of death

(Note: Riddle: Recnac = cancer)
