Looking at yesterday, tears roll down faces
For what could have or would have been
Floating in the wind of time
Passed and gone, The picture fades
Behind the sheer fabric of the scarlet scarf
Seeing the picture of yesterday
Faintly behind the scarlet scarf
The red-orange hues of the fallen leaves
Stand out against
The girl framed beside the backdrop
Filled with barren trees
She stands in her prized
Rock star jeans with the red laces down the front
And her faithful white spaghetti strap tank top
Holding the hands wrapped around her waist
Looking up into the blue/gray eyes
Of her lover and best friend
Standing with her till the end of time
But yet the perfect picture portrait
Flickers in the wind of time
And she no longer stands happily ever after
She has fallen to her knees alone and deserted
Lost and gone to the betrayals of the world
Holding her last hope . . . her dagger
The girl kneels in what was
A battleground filled with blood
Her own blood and flesh
As the red sweet liquid flows
Down her wrist and into her hand
Tears roll down her sweet pale face
Giving her sapphire eyes a tiny sparkle
Knowing it was his fault the pictures changed
Standing the thought
Of what might have drove her
From her one and only lover
To the depths of despair
Is hard to bear
Looking at yesterday
Thinking of betrayal
His picture hides behind
The transparent black scarf, Hung next to hers
He cries as he breathes his last breath
With peace in his soul and enters
The blackened halls of turmoil
