I am
A great pretender
When you
Look at me
You will see
A happy child
Full of laughter
A loving family
Full of smiles
You will
Only see
The lies
Never behind
These eyes
Will you come
To find
The life
I pretend not to have
You will never see
The child
Full of discomfort
Who cuts
Just to feel
A different
Type of pain
Than the hatred
Pushed upon her
By her family
Never will you see
The hating family
Full of anger
Who yell and fight
In the middle of the night
Never knowing
The young girl
Who sits in tears
In her room
Slicing away
At her wrist
And watching
The blood drip
But
When you see me
At school
I will have
A smile
On my face
Because
The only thing
That could make
This pain worse
Is having
A thousand eyes
Staring
A thousand mouths
Asking
And
A thousand peers
Still not caring
