Butterfly

Can you see the butterfly?
It's up in the sky.
I'm going to follow it home,
So see if it's really alone.
It flies through a forest quietly,
I scamper quickly after it, silently.
The butterfly seems full of love,
As I watch it seemingly float up above.
But a rascal little boy throws a stone at the butterfly,
As I watch in horror as it falls from the sky.
The boy runs off, to tell his friends what he's done,
He injured an innocent butterfly just for fun.
The butterfly struggles to get back up on it's feet,
I watch after finally spotting what I seeked.
It's poor wing is wounded and it can hardly fly,
But it flops, limps around in the sky.
It struggles to go on, it wants to survive,
But I wonder if the butterfly will stay alive.
Terrible things happen along the way,
That happens so fast there was nothing to say.
The butterfly reminds me of myself,
And I knew how the butterfly felt.
I knew the pain it struggled through,
I knew how life threw stones at you.
I still follow the butterfly to this day,
To make sure the butterfly will get it's hope's light ray.
I hope someday it will no longer sigh.
Can you see the butterfly?
