Who Would've Thought

Who would've thought, you and me together at last
We defied all odds, while everyone just laughed.
You were the best friend I never had
I know it was short, but I'll never forget the time that we had.
The laughs we shared, and the way we talked
When we were together all hope was not lost.
You showed me things no one else could
You inspired me the way no one else would
You helped me through times of trial
And you were with me for every mile.
I'll always remember what I learned from you
The things I now know I can confidently do.
Even though you're not here anymore, I can still feel you.
And whenever I get stuck, I think about what youw ould do.
I know you can no longer be here with me,
But you're thoughts and your actions I can still see.
I look to you for guidance, patience, and hope
How to react, how to deal, how to cope.
Although I can't see you now, I know someday somehow
I'll see you again, I just don't know when.
But I know everything will be the same and we'll pick up where we left off,
We'll be just as before, not a memory lost.
