Single crimson rose
Solitary petals, dripping black
Mixing with the paint from your fingertips
Epitome of the one that I desire,
The one that I can never have
Reaching for my wilted rose, you of blood and thorns
But blinded by what is still in front of me,
The sunlight that I never wanted.
In my mind I see only you,
The image of your shattered beauty
Your tawny eyes and darkened soul
You who are desired by so many,
What is it that your petals covet?
I would give the world for you.
But I’m not sure that you could do the same.
