Suddenly I'm quiet,
and I don't say a word.
I go back to that day,
But my vision is blurred.

We were walking on the beach,
You took my hand in yours.
I heard the waves crash,
As they loudly hit the shores.

Suddenly you quit walking,
And turned around to me.
You looked into my eyes,
And said it wasn't meant to be.

As tears begin to fall,
I think of that day.
You said you'd always be there,
And that you'd never go away.

Suddenly I'm quiet,
And I don't say a word.
I think of you always,
And my vision becomes blurred.
