One Last Breath

Dreams of the past come
As silent thieves,
Here only to steal what memory
I have left of you.
No longer can I fight them.
No longer can I resist.
Pulled down into the dark abyss,
All but one memory of life has faded.
The one that survived
My torturous, self-mutilation,
Is a lonely rift in time.
That one moment
Right before I died
We sat around and talked
For hours on end.
As I was leaving,
You called me back for something.
The one thing I'll never forget
Is the night of our first kiss.
Now all else is gone,
But this still survives.
A little flame in my heart
Still burns for you love.
When all else has faded,
Nothing else would do.
Now I sit above the clouds
And watch you from afar.
You'll never know I'm here,
Bu know this-I'll always
Know who you are.
