My Greatest Fear

My greatest fear is not death, but the thought that you know…
Can you sense that your image is burned into my mind, though I shun it as my
biggest foe?
The thrill that runs up my spine, that glimmering hope
It’s all be shoved aside, your icy stare I can’t bare to provoke.
I glance aside, insides afire with shame,
If you knew how I felt, there would be no end to your games.
And so I hide, forcing you away
Your lies I will not endure, my attention must not stray.
So why do I write this poem; if you see it, you’ll know its you,
The one that haunts me day and night, that wont allow me to say, “We’re
through.”
Please go away, don’t tease me so,
For its you that I want and cannot have, but I will not let it show.
