There’s a lump
Like a bee-sting
That clashes with your
Diamond ring
That throbs red roses
Bleeds like death
And sits me on the edge
Of breath
And as it grows
I watch my hand
Be sucked away
Like hourglass sand
Keep sinking down
Till it’s too small
To barely see
Or touch at all
Is it shrinking?
Am I falling?
Is dream world emptying
Of all my sobbing?
I can’t let go
I will not see
The reason to this
No, I will not plead
I won’t be jealous
I am smart
I know my emotions
And the twists of my heart
And I’ll say it doesn’t hurt
And from everyone I’ll keep away
Until your diamond ring, though pretty
Dies with a piece of my life today.
