It is bitter,the after taste is hell
It burns as it goes down
Some is worse than others

But I don't do it for the taste
Or the stomach ache afterward
I do it so I won't cut

I know drinking isn't the way
But it makes me so calm
And almost happy

I just wish it didn't taste so bad
Chardonnay is worse
But it doesn't matter

It's a way to cope
Simple as that
And no one suspects me

I just want to take the edge off
Don't lecture me
So be it

I'm not an alcoholic
I've only done this a few times
But Dad's getting low on beer
