The smell of hundreds of funky people
The feeling of sweat running down my back in 90 degree weather
The 14 long hour days
The lack of family time
The hours spent perfecting the uniform
The sound of the drum
The march down the line
The 60 proud trainees
The campaign hat
The blue rope
The sound of shoe taps on the concrete all day long
The panic of trainees getting ready when “Reveille” sounds
The sound of parade rest that rings as “Sound Retreat” is played
The salute that snaps when the “The Star Spangled Banner” is heard
The relief at night when “Taps” rings through the squadron

It's not a job that many can handle
But it's a job I would love

I want to be a Military Training Instructor
I will wear that Montana Peak Campaign Hat
