Until the Time Comes

As i lay and watch
the black and white movies
play inside my head
i remember all the things
that are better off forgotten.
The hurt the pain
the loss and sorrow.
They all come streaming back
as if it were only yesterday.
The bright red pool
against the perfect white folds.
The dress marred
the blood,
bleeding through
to tint my skin.
The look in your eyes
of utmost suprise and hurt
the slow leeching pain
before your eyes glazed over,
Never to change again.
your eyes burning into my mind
before slowly the fire consumes me.
The guilt and remorse
swamping the tiny boat
with a single drop of blood on the prow.
The boat that brings you
in a way
to guide me home
as the movie stops
to rest in peace with you beside me
to keep me strong
until the time comes.
