“My Favourite One”
Walk along this path with me
and our two companions
close in pursuit
follow me in between the rain drops
falling like tears from a tortured mind
like yours that I am rapidly try
trying to fix stitch you up
get you back on your feet
so you can stand with your golden heart
sprawl yourself across the couch
wrapped up in your jacket
you look like an angel that has tripped
and slipped all the way down to this place
I can see your halo when you show us a smile
and I’m scared that you are not worthy of
the punishment that sent you down here
I don’t have much to say
but I got a lot to do
a lot of cool things that I want to show you
yeah I want to show you a sunrise
that can almost compete
with the beauty in your eyes
and I am going show you
all the things I was scared to show
I was afraid that you would drop me like a butt
from an exhausted cigarette
walk and waltz around this room with me
come on and let yourself laugh
when I peel off my shirt and say
oh damn it’s falling off
and you smile oh and you laugh
I’m putting away needle and thread
you are mended for now
just you remember with the things
that I have showed you
that I will always be here to sew
repair any damage
just let me know
