I see the sun setting
And the leaves of the ray shedding
As sorrow sings
I see dark clouds high above
And no sight of a single white dove
As sorrow sings
I see a blackbird in the air
And circling overhead as it seems to care
As sorrow sings
I see people in black with tears
And the sound of cries mourns the ears
As sorrow sings
I see the sidewalk hiding in the shadows
And the coffin into the grave it goes
As sorrow sings
I see all the windows covered in dew
And the patient in the hospital having anew
As sorrow sings
I see all the people walking home
And everyone quiet not making a single tune
As sorrow sings
