One Last Thing

She remains in the dark
for quite some time
He's left her with only one thought
On her desk
lies her future
Her only bleeding thought
She reaches for a blade
but instead she grabs the pen
A sheet of paper on her desk
covered in some beautiful mess
She inscribes her thoughts on the back
something listless for all to see
Because they'll never rescue me
They'll come to my bed
not remembering anything I've said
not knowing I'll be dead
So here I go
One last thing
before I leave
One last thing
for all to read
You didn't care when I told you I'm scared
You didn't worry about any of my fears
She drops the pen
and counts to ten
She closes her eyes
remembering nobody ever tried
She grabs the knife
and takes her life
