Lulla-byes

**Sorta choppy...

Velvet and lace
Replaced by heartache
Red satin dress takes my place
Goodbye bright eyes
He replies
To my request of a lullaby
Sing me to sleep one more time
Your voice numbs my heart
When intellectual disputes start
To seem too hard to carry on
No disregards for silk pillow cases
Wrapped up in your dream
As the night races
Through my mind and around the places
Bringing back familiar faces
Kill my adventure; steal my kiss
All my feelings I still keep hidden
Behind the lullabies and my eyelids
You cry; you lied
You sang a lullaby
A whispered promise of goodbye
He said with a gentle kiss
"Let me hold your heart to mend
I'm not letting go of it..."
Velvet and lace
Replaced with heartache
Red satin dress takes my place
"Hello bright eyes..."
I heard you say to her
Who is this girl I'm replaced with?
So meticulously picked over me
"It was only a kiss..."
But on her lips
I can't let go
It's killing me
Surrender reluctantly to jealousy
You cried to me
"It was nothing less
Than a harmless kiss..."
But she's just like the rest
And I'm making a mess of this
I'll kiss my heart goodbye
Close my eyes; try not to cry
Sing me one more lulla-bye
