Why love if you’re only going to be forgotten?
Why feel if you’re only going to be hurt?
Well because someday the clouds are gonna’ pass over
They have and are for me

My chains are lying there on the floor
My hands and ankles no longer bound
Although I’m still standing there afraid to move
I’m afraid to leave my comfort zone because there,
I always know what’s coming,
But out here anything goes

I have taken a step away now with my promise
And my promise I shall keep
The day my promise is due,
Is the day I will run and never return.
I won’t look back and I wont think twice.
When I reach my destiny it will be the greatest day of my life.

I will no longer be filled with blues and grays,
But with warm colors.
I will have love in my life and a home.
Not just a wall with chains to be kicked around
But a bed and a “Family.”
I will have “You.”

You know everything there is about me,
That I have done and what I am.
So I stand here at the start line
And I am waiting for my gunshot,
To start my new life
