she was a light not built to last
she died too young and she lived too fast.
she was a star so bright, clever and fine.
that was until she lost her shine.

sniffing sharpies and drinking wine,
she's messed up now and she won't be fine.
snorting smarties to feel numb.
there's her temple, where's the gun?

she's on velvet and you never knew.
now you don't know what to do.
there's a purple ribbon in her hair,
you see her, but she isn't really there.

now she's out cold and on the floor.
but you're still standing in her door.
you check your watch and you check the date,
it's past midnight, january 15th, and it's too late.

she was a light not built to last,
she died too young and she lived too fast.
she was a star so bright, clever and fine,
that was until she lost her shine.

[yeah, i know it isn't the best.
the rhythem is off in some spots, like, way off.
spur of the moment kind of thing. wrote it last night, past midnight on
january 15th. *shrugs*
