I look around this empty room
trying to find something, someone to hold on to
My eyes wander to a picture of me and you
sometime before you left
I can remember that day
the way our laughter filled the house
you seemed so happy, you were alive
As my eyes begin to search the room
the intoxicating scent of your perfume fills the air that surrounds me
And I can feel you here…

As I look back, I cannot recall ever saying how much I love you, I love
you.
I need something to hold onto
My finger search the ground
My eyes fill with tears
I’ve found nothing, no one
Why aren’t you here?
Why are you dead?
It wasn’t meant to be, why weren’t we there?
Aunt Karen I can’t forget the words you said
“Life is too beautiful to let go...”
As I scream at you, the only word that leaves my lips is no
Maybe one day I will know
Maybe one day I will understand why you thought you had to go
I will miss you, I already do
Everything you meant to me
I just wish I had you…
