I never seem to say the right thing
So I might as well not say anything at all
You yell at me bringing the familiar sting
Making me feel helpless and small
I try to be calm but the tears well up
Breaking the barrier, all the pain I covered up
I can't handle this confrontation
Can't handle all this pain
I want to be the perfect daughter
And for you to be the perfect father
But things aren't T.V.
This is reality
So I know I'll never see
Who it is you want me to be
