Ideal Portrait

Not the ideal portrait for what you see me portray
No gold or silver lining, simply dependable and always here to stay;
No hidden wonders
If I'm worth all the time you have to give,
Only to be blamed for the fault
That I showed you the meaning of live

I know I'll never be the model of art in your black and white dreams,
I don't expect you to see a mirage of color
making something not what it seems
Cause I am reality, close your eyes,
you will find all the same as if looking at me
I just hope you've taken time to see
That if I'm not good enough for anyone,
I'm good enough for me.
