Fight Night

As the fans cheer as loud as a plane.
My opponent strikes, but I feel no pain.

But now I'm off defense, and on the attack.
I hook with my right, the crowd "Ooos" when it smacks.

This is my night, I say to myself.
As I lay a barrage of punches, His jaw shifts like a shelf.

Since I figure I won, I let down my guard.
But he lets go a Haymaker and hits me hard.

I say to myself "How could I be so dumb".
As I taste the blood bleeding through my gums.

I lay on the mat as the ref starts to count.
I close my eyes and I hear "Knockout".

Alas I have been defeated by a worthy opponent.
Even though I now feel the pain, I shall never show it.
