Dancer Who Saved Me

Tears rain down in jealousy
Everyone expected her to feel
She stands alone in the crowd
Watching what couldn't possibly be real

That happiness was once hers
Stolen by the lust of the moment
Like an outcast she stands aside
What unfair type of torment

Her friend comes and takes her hand
Wishing another was by her side
They softly comfort her and wipe away tears
But inside alone she cries

The day is not done and the fight is not over
Terrified she runs for cover
He stops her in her tracks and she will realise
They can pull off a truthful disguise

She dances with him trying to pretend
He holds her close almost too tight
Silently she sobs they carry on
Little do they know she will not last the night

He pulls her away suddenly when he recognises
How her heart is torn in three
In an instant her hand is held
And he embraces her lovingly

They step into the cold outside
They can't see the stars because of the rain
Slow dancing in imagined moonlight
It will wash away the pain

Neither know that he saved her life
From despair and from herself
Because they realise fortunately
The feelings for eachother that they felt.
