As I sit on the sidelines, Watching him play the field,
Her to him I freely give, Reluctantly I yield

A word I could have spoken, to let her know I feel this way,
Instead I let another, now off the list I am to stay

What if she had feelings that she wished somehow for me
I can't believe I missed this one and only opportunity

She and I fit more as one, this I must prove to her,
But I am much too late this time, As she begins to concur

I do, she says to him with smiling eyes, glancing towards the back at me,
She's dressed in white from head to toe;
It's now that I finally see

I'd take every chance in the world, to travel back to that day,
Where I had a shot to tell her the truth, and hear what she might say,

Now I linger through the day, Never to want another to stay,
She was my perfect match, THE ONE I let get away.
