Yours That Lies in Me

Why do my emotions take a sudden fall as soon as you aren’t around
I feel so different and incomplete, I don’t want to talk or hear a sound
But if for only a moment you’d surprise me at my door
I’d lock you in my embrace and you’d grant my wish for more
But here my wonders exist and my heart is left unattended
For as long as I have understood, there’s a reason we quickly befriended
I could see it, there was a spark, you’ve said so yourself
That we’re each other’s antidote, the cure, our happiness’ health
It’s proven true every time that we laugh... at the same time
And the way your spoken feelings end up also being mine
It’s obvious you try to hide it when you pretend to be mad,
The fact that you gently slap my leg...
I know in your mind, you wish you had-
Had the freedom to hold me in your arms and love me at your will
But for now you bear this burden, cause you refuse to tell me still
I think it’s because you see that our love is a pure star-crossed one
And that is what holds you back... at the end you won’t want to run
Neither will I, so that is why, our hearts will never be
Forever we must miss the part
Mine that lies in you...
And yours that lies in me.
