The sky is dark as,
My eyelids grow heavy,
And my body is weak.

The signs are all here,
It’s apparent that I’m tired,
So why can’t I sleep?

My mind is racing,
Like a dog after a cat,
And it’s showing no hint of cease.

Thoughts about today;
Thoughts about tomorrow.
I must put my mind at peace.

About the day I reminisce,
Thinking about what went wrong?
And what went right?

It’s getting really late,
I’m losing precious time,
I must call it a night!

Just forget about the day,
Stop wondering about tomorrow,
Just relax and go to sleep.

I roll to my side and close my eyes,
Clear my mind and prepare to enter
Into the dream world, I drift so deep.
