No light in the Darkness

The darkness closes in it seems,
it eats our soul,
it destroys our dreams.
Can the darkness be defeated?
Or is it just something that is needed?
Needed like the blood in your veins,
like a demon without wings,
or a ghost without chains.
There wouldn't be much without it,
only a bordem,
and everything would be sane.
The darkness has taken in,
the ones who kill,
and the ones who sin.
Its tragic that I havn't been taken,
or maybe it took someone else,
and somehow it was sadly mistaken.
Sometimes I see the darkness,
hiding in the shadows,
speaking to me,
standing on a pile of clothes,
we talk about all there is to evil,
how angels are worthless,
and how a great one became a devil.
We talk and talk till it fades away,
sometimes we talk,
till theres nothing to say.
Its firery red eyes,
can peer into my soul,
but lucky for me,
I have no heart,
its just a hole.
