When I first looked down upon the paper
Did I understand
That within those seven digits,
Some kind of fate was in my hands?
I slowly dialed the number
But I was afraid of what might be waiting at the other end—
Someone I had only seen from afar—
Someone who was soon to be called friend.
From good friend
To just a little more
I didn't sense the change
I didn't see what could be in store;
But what seemed like a lifetime later—
What may've been only days away
Something seemed to happen
I'm saying things I never thought I'd say.
Sooner than I realized,
Thoughts of you became an everyday thing.
"Look at what you've become"—
I like the way I've changed.
I'm closer to you
Than I ever thought I'd be
Yet there's still so much to learn
Always so much new to see.
But this something that we have here—
I'm absolutely scared to death
That I'll somehow chase it away
Without knowing what was best
Because you complete me
It's almost like you're my other half
You express yourself so plainly—
You always know how to make me laugh
For it only takes your laugh
To brighten up my day
We're so different, so alike
In each and every way.
I guess you should kind of scare me—
There's so much you've already done;
But I'm so comfortable with you that I'm nervous
You're the only one..
It only takes your voice
To bring a smile to my lips
One puzzle piece to complete me
You're the only one that fits…
