Darkness

Faeries with torn wings
evil and mean
red eyed and dark
they ruin everything

Not day only night instead
the promises of darkness
consuming your head
the cheats, a harness
gripping your mind
opens an escape
to shadows one last time

Unwanted lies day after day
you can't escape
you can't turn away
the truth is needed
worn like a cape
though it never comes
you sit and wait

The last gothic butterfly
beautiful and dark
cowering waiting to die
the fairy dust gone
it's wings torn apart
lonely can do no wrong

The roses which it sat
both red and white
decide to wilt and fade
they've died in the night
only the black one stayed
there to comfort and stop the tears
quietly there
to comfort your fears

Grabbing them as it holds on tight
allowing for cover of darkness
to gradually take flight
it had become a friend
warm and comforting
there 'till the end
