As Brutus

Hell forged weaponry
Stabbing in my side,
Grab the blade, I beg you,
And force it till
It slides within my heart
At last -
Peace, perhaps for awhile,
Until her again I see
And the blooded blade
Slips out and falls away -
Then she’ll smile, say hello,
Forcing such a pained heart
To mend - pump life again -
Regrettably, I’ll feel again -
Even slightly happy
Though she’ll never know I wasn’t -
Yet as she turns to leave
Her loss stabs me,
Without her knowing the pain,
Deep within my chest,
Cause she has no clue I care -
Only that I stare,
And I so wish to lay my heart bare,
But I can not -
So I’ll fall upon the blade -
As Brutus -
Hoping to make this time the last.
