My Heart

I've been sitting here in the dark for so long,
And I've had no clue where to go,
I've been trying to find all of the answers,
To the questions I did not know,

I've been wondering things about myself,
And what I had deep inside,
I've been trying to expose the things,
That I always try to hide,

I've been faced with difficult times,
And forced to make a choice,
I've been pushed into a place,
Where I must finally use my voice,

I've been pushed around by people,
Who claimed to be my friends,
I've been used and abused by people,
And it seems to never end,

I've been walked on and mistreated,
And I've finally had my fill,
I've been pushed all the way to the brink,
And now my redemption shall give you chills,

I've been given a gift like no other,
And that I'm happy is so true,
I've been given the love of a woman,
Who never makes me feel blue,

I've been given a chance to see,
That some things are worth the wait,
I've been given a whole new me,
And it simply makes me feel great,


I've been taken from the darkness,
And placed in loving arms,
I've been given a guiding light,
That will never do me harm,

I've been to the top and bottom,
And now the choices seem so clear,
I've been confused and scared all along,
But now I have no fear

So I push on from the pain,
And look forward to a new day,
I now have a reason for living,
And she's mine in every way,

So my love this is for you,
I expose my feelings so strong,
Because you are the wonderful thing,
That I've been needing for so long,

I'll never hurt again,
As long as we're not apart,
But even when we are,
You will remain My Heart.
