Alive Again

Sun up, sun down.
Day in and day out.
Everyday
Every moment…
Every second, is all the same.
Nothing changes in this world of mind,
Nothing new happens in the life that I live.

I forget the last time I had adventure.
I forgot what adventure was like.
When was the last time I saw outside?
I mean truly, looked up at the sky
While I laid upon the grass.
When did I last run free for the moment
That I had nothing to worry about?
I cannot remember…yes, it has been that long.

Somebody please save me.
Somebody take me from this new world that
I once thought would allow me to reap benefits
Like no other.
Save me from my solitude that I have thrown myself in.
As it is I look at the grass now, and I do not know it.
It is a stranger to me.

But what is this…this flower?
No, that is no flower, it is but a simple ornament
On a girl’s slipper, but what is it doing out here?
Wait…it belongs to a girl, and-and she’s standing in front me.
Why is she smiling? What is she looking at?
…She’s looking at me.
…She’s…looking at me.

Why am I taking her hand?
What am I doing following her?
What is this joyous emotion I am suddenly filled with?
I know this feeling….I know it well.
Oh thank you for hearing me, thank you for seeing my need
For happiness,
For adventure.

I am alive again thanks to you, great gods,
for opening my eyes because it was a flower
That was before me.
A beautiful flower that will forever set me free.
Thank you…she who guides me back
to where I belong.
She, who will forever hold, my happiness.
