Too Close To Home

Her name was unimportant,
To those who did not care,
That even in her finest moments,
No one realised she was there,

To him she was too close to home,
He realised what she was like,
And even though they shared certain things,
He still found her a dislike,

Even in the darkest shadow,
True love was still so clear,
That one popular boy might change her world,
But turned on her in fear,

His status was too expensive,
For him to ditch his hard work,
Building up respect all these years,
Made her love a jerk,

But finally he realised,
Image was not everything,
And in this outsider,
He found something special within,

Later they soon joined together,
Proclaimed their love to all,
And even though his friends did not like it,
He still stood next to her head high and tall.
