A memory

Of all things I cherish,
This is what I cherish the most,
Reliving my past,
Being there like a ghost,
Remembering our summer days,
Back when we could fool around,
Without a care in our heads,
We felt like queens with our crowns,
My friends were all smiling,
With joy in their life,
No care of the future,
No hatred and no strife,
Sweet memories at the park,
Laughing on the swings,
Talking about our latest crushes,
And how they would be our kings,
My life was soon sorted,
Taking ups and downs as they came,
But soon forgetting the old life I had,
I had a feeling of shame,
Soon leaving the past,
Forgetting what I now cherish,
My friends left behind,
Our friendships soon perished,
I wish I had realised,
Before it was too late,
Just how much I would miss them,
My friends who were so great.
