Prostitutes Can't Fall In Love

You stumbled down Broadway
stepping on class and cutting your ego
but you scoffed as you showed them the 'how to'
and put on your best with the worst intentions
dressed to kill

You saw megiving you the eye
our old games began
for the very first time
But I blended in like the raw black vines
streaking your artistic wrists
as I laugh you off
and you swallow your pride
and it burns
the whole way down

You can't shake this feeling
or disguise you're insecurities
This is waht you wanted
something like an inexorable paramour
and irony's chiding laughter
echoing in your virgin ears
i will become the jagged fringe
clipped from the fabric of your mind

Well I tried to tell you
We are unique in a world of cowards
and we can't conceal it
If you we tiptoe the steps will still creak
and everyone will know the price I pay

You thought you could shake this feeling
like I am nothing at all

Sweet sad canvas
I have yet to paint you a picture
