I named you lover...

I named you lover.
We were together,
All the time.
Through countless days...
I went away, you watched me cry.
You took advantage of my absence,
and said goodbye.
I took your beautiful face in my hands
and told you I would love you forever,
that I would always wait by your gate
regardless of the weather...
We kissed again, after some distance of time.
I thought you loved me again,
I thought you were all mine.
The mistake I made
was jumping to conclusions.
I guess the tears in your eyes
were just an illusion,
because you said that it was goodbye.
You kissed me briefly and it meant the world.
The other things brought pleasure,
but meant nothing to this girl.
And as you turned to walk away
the tears overflowed my eyes,
but considering the pain I felt,
it was no big surprise.
I wonder if you saw the tears
dancing down my face.
And I wonder if you hear my heart,
every time it breaks.
