It Was Worth All The Pain

Sometimes I wonder
If I did the right thing
By letting go of what little we had
I know we didn't have much
We weren't even really a couple
But I know we had something

Something small
Yet something meaningful
For those few short weeks
We knew of each other
We discovered it was possible
To fall for someone
Without ever seeing their face

Yet you left
You vauled a friendship
Over a possible love
For the longest time
I regretted lossing you
but now I can say
I understand why we couldn't
be together

Because if we had
I would never have met
the man I'm with now
I would never be able
to tell you thank you
Because even though
You broke my heart
You gave me the chance
to love another

So just to let you know
I'm happy now
And thank you
And I'm sorry
If anything I ever said
Caused you any guilt
or sleepness nights.
