Like an Angel

She covers her bright eyes
that denies
what she thought happened
She kept her mouth shut
and covered her scars
looking up at the midnight stars
she wished it was over
she wished she could tell them
She wouldn't let herself cry
so she slit her wrists, waiting to die
Her mother walked in
and screamed so loud
Her father ran in and didn't care
In her last few moments, her mother just stood there
And watched him beat her to death
She was a lost soul, unimportant or so she thought
But when the town found out
They were shocked they didn't know about
Her family life because she seemed so nice
like an angel held up high
And now she was in a better place up in the sky
Where she doesn't need to cry, lie, or want to die.
