One day he's there
The next we don't know where
Everyday a newly shed tear
Wondering when he'll permanently be here

Prayers falling on deaf ears
Hoping he won't cause her more tears
Like he has been for years
As his apologetic gaze sears her

This time it's for real
We hope she will heal
All because of me he's gone
He won't use her as a pawn

But now I feel guilty
Because it seems she is wilting
Like a precious flower
Dying due to lack of water
