Endearments Forgotten (He Was Right)

Dear
I'll always be near
Here for you
They were all words to woo

They worked
In the back of my mind it lurked
Me knowing your tricks
Knowing your reason is for kicks

But it's more than that
I knew what you were getting at
Calling me your love
Tellin me I was sent from above

And still I let you in
I let you win
Let you get the best of me
And then I started to see

What I meant to you
What my father said was true
You never loved me
You only wanted my body

I loved you
Or I thought I did
Then I found I was your begotten
Your alternate

You left me
And your endearments
You soon forgot them
They remained always in my mind

My dad was right
I can't believe I got into a fight
With him over you
When all he said
Ended up to be true
