At first it’s nothing
Fooling myself that my mind is truly free
The heart knows better though
Knows the true and deep desires
The heart does not deceive
It knows not blindness
Suddenly the pain rushes back
An unbearable void of nothingness
The heart pumps only blood
Intangible truths so close…
Never to be understood
A mind too blind to feel
What does the heart know?
His laughter echoes across the void
Mocking the foolish heart
A pain too horrible and sweet
Cloth of deception
Love covers reality
The heart knows nothing
But I am left with even less
