I look the other way
as I watch the curtain fall
over your sunlight starved skin
and jagged shape
I thought I could bury
the venom in you
But you only waved away
the kisses i blew you
you are the ballerina
and i am the stage
and you
dance upon my back so well
thousands mesmerized with horror
as I importune for your mercy
but I am silenced...
you dance the La Bayadère across my spine
beautifully barbaric
arsenic twisted in ribbons around your malicious limbs
you are dramatically unmasked tonight
the classic beauty
without her pearls
