You linger on

My heart was broken, my tears were shed,
I thought for a moment my soul was dead.
You tore me in two, you ripped me apart,
my heart lay bleeding in plain, open sight.

You didn't see it, you could have cared less,
You left my heart there to be crushed none the less.
I've picked up the pieces, I've tried to move on,
but somehow you're memory still lingers on.

You're in my waking thoughts, you're in my dreams,
I love you no matter how bad it seems.
One day you'll realize, One day you'll know,
That you should have been there and not let me go.
