The Storm

As it storms outside tonight
I think about our love
The sounds, the sights are joy and fright
as the clouds roll up above.

The rain is for all the tears we've cried
through those times of greatest need
The lightning, our feelings electrified
in our chaotic life we lead.

The clouds are for all of those nasty days
where we thought we'd never last
The thunder screams that ugly phrase
"Maybe love was a thing of the past."

But the rain always stops and the sun comes out
and everything's alright again
The storm has taught us what our live's are about
for when the clouds clear, love always wins.
