Silence in the Night

Watch the world without the light,
Feeling for the first time with my new sight,
Holding my breath in, so I have no fright,
Not for the first time, silence in the night.

Walking the lonely road, alone I will be,
Feeling the dark fall, soon I wont see,
I know you won’t help; you won’t walk with me,
At the end of this road, will I be free?

The road’s long and winding; it makes me feel cold,
But the time it takes to walk it is worth it I’m told,
I’m holding my heart; I won’t let it be sold,
At the end of this road there’s something to hold.

Walking on down, walking on by,
Watching the violence, looking so sly,
Turning my eyes up, look at the sky,
Feeling the heart break, making me cry.
